In the beginning, there was nothing. Void. Blackness. Then a spark of life. With life, comes death, sickness, and despair. As long as the primordial ooze has struggled to eke out an existence on some distant barren rock there has been something waiting, conspiring, lusting. That something is Nurgle and he has his devotees, his champions, his followers. Those that embrace sickness, despair, and death are sometimes rewarded with life everlasting in a fashion.
The miserable, the wretched, the diseased all are welcome in Nurgle's family. Nurgle loves all his little children from the smallest infested micro organism to the largest, most corrupt, corpulent, loathsome creature in the universe.
Among the most devote of Nurgle's follower are the Diseased Sons. Infected during their founding, they have known only Nurgle's loving care never serving the false emperor, not even for a day. Long have they toiled, raiding, despoiling, corrupting in the name of Nurgle. Dwelling in the Eye of Terror until an unsuspecting target is spied or a whim overtakes a champion or compelled to go forth by some greater power, the Diseased Sons swell in number until they burst, befouling the mortal realm once more.
Many a champion of Nurgle has lead the Diseased Sons, notable campaigns and commanders include Slim and George during the Great Nurgling Roundup of '02 and Leperous the Obese and the Vancouver Incursion. Dissatisfied with the carnage and corruption brought upon the Vancouver system, the Diseased Sons have returned under a new commander, Malefactor the Marred, to once again bring mayhem to the Western fringes of the Imperium.
